Only service packs can be used to "update" and existing installation. You cannot perform an upgrade or update installation to go from one major release to another major release. You must always perform a complete installation, which requires either a CD or a complete Pre-Release download. (When a new version is released, subscription customers should receive a new CD automatically). When updating from one major release to another, you may notice an "update existing installation" option during the install. If you choose this option, your existing installation of SOLIDWORKS will be deleted and replaced with the latest major release.

Please contact the online store/reseller from whom you have purchased the Student Edition license. They can provide you with information regarding your serial numbers and/or any questions related to your order process.

The option to be displayed in the online CSWP directory is something that must be approved by the user.  By default it is set to not display your listing in the diretory so you need to login to your account and select the option to be displayed.  You can login to your account by visiting this link: https://3dexperience.virtualtester.com/#home. Once logged into your account navigate to your settings page and select the "Yes" option for "List in Online Directory".

If you did not receive serial numbers via email, check your spam/junk folder as the email might have been filtered. You may also contact the online store/reseller from whom you purchased the Student Edition and provide them with your order number to get more information.

The tester software will retry to connect for ~2 minutes. If the connection is still not available, an error message will be displayed and a TXT file will be saved on your desktop. The name of the file is: Tangix_TesterPro_Error_Date_Time.

If your original device is no longer working and you're unable to deactivate the license, you can install the Student Edition on a second machine. This second activation is provided as a courtesy, allowing you to get back up and running without needing to contact Support. Please note, however, that this second activation is not intended for concurrent use on both machines – which would be considered a violation of the Terms of Service.

Yes, your company’s Security Administrator as defined in DSx.CLIENT CARE & ORDER or your Partner (VAR/Reseller) can add all 100 contacts to your company’s DSx.Client site and those users can access the subscription benefits once they have created their 3DEXPERIENCE ID.

1. Uninstall the non-genuine software from your machine
2. Replace it with a SOLIDWORKS Genuine software
3. Report the suspected non-compliant reseller, marketplace or website where you bought the non-genuine software

If for any reason you get disconnected, the platform will preserve your session for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, you will be given a new instance and any unsaved work will be lost.

This error is related to the installation of prerequisite VC++ components. To troubleshoot the issue, try reinstallation of VC++ components manually:

1.  Go to Start > User Account > User Account Control Settings. Set it to “Never Notify”. Restart the system
2.  Login as administrator
3.  Uninstall VC++ redistributable components (2008 and 2010 and 2012, 2013, 2015) from Programs and Features
4.  Restart the computer
5.  Login as administrator
6.  Reinstall: VC++ 2008 and 2010 and 2012, 2013, 2015
   1. a. downloaded files\prereqs\VCRedist9\vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe
   2. b. downloaded files\prereqs\VCRedist10\vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe

SOLIDWORKS Design with Cloud Services has the same 3D CAD functions, capabilities, and user interface as SOLIDWORKS Design. The only difference between the two is how they are purchased and deployed: SOLIDWORKS Design with Cloud Services uses a term license or perpetual license with subscription services and can be installed on one device.
