Bullwork Redefines Farming with AI, EV, and Autonomous Tech
SOLIDWORKS helps Bullwork Mobility design a technology-driven approach to farming— reducing costs, boosting efficiency, and modernizing agriculture.
Challenge
Replacing outdated Agricultural machines in India with AI-enabled and sustainable EV equipment for agriculture, construction, material handling and mining sectors.
Solution
Implement SOLIDWORKS design software and add 3DEXPERIENCE Works modeling, design, project planning, simulation, data management, collaboration, and communication solutions from the SOLIDWORKS for Startups program to design and manufacture electrical equipment to produce better automated vehicles.
Results
- Reduce operational costs by over 80%
- Cut development cycles by 25 percent
- Made collaboration more efficient
- Decreased rework costs through improved accuracy
The Indian agriculture sector faces escalating challenges, from outdated equipment to rising labor shortages. Recognizing the need for innovation, Bullwork Mobility set out to change the game by building smart autonomous electric vehicles (EVs) for the agriculture, construction, material handling, and mining sectors.

Bullwork’s founding team began running the numbers during the early days of COVID-19. They quickly realized how inefficient diesel-powered tractors had become. "It turns out that the current tractor technology—all the diesel machines—are very expensive to operate and maintain,” explains CTO and Co-founder Dr. Sriharsha Sheshanarayana.
The numbers are staggering: Operating a diesel tractor for just a single year can cost up to 50% of its capital cost. In comparison, Bullwork electric vehicles reduce operational costs by over 80%, providing farmers a powerful new option for efficiency and sustainability.
Consider fuel alone: A tractor that burns approximately 1 gallon of diesel every hour costs approximately $3 to $4 an hour for fuel alone, a significant expense for small farmers. Bullwork machines reduce the operational cost to approximately 65 cents an hour.

Innovation at the Core
The company’s focus extends beyond just making electric tractors. Bullwork is harnessing the power of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance crop yields. Bullwork machines gather data on the crop to help with yield prediction, smart health monitoring, and precision farming.
Bullwork is committed to advancing sustainable agriculture. Each machine is engineered to reduce up to 10 metric tons of CO₂ emissions per year, enabling farmers to not only increase operational efficiency but also earn carbon credits through sustainable practices.

Selecting the Right Technology Partner
To bring these ambitious ideas to life, Bullwork Mobility turned to the SOLIDWORKS® for Startups program early on. The powerful design tools immediately became central to their workflow. "We are attempting to not only make machines for farmers that are cheaper to run, but also trying to see how we can automate repetitive and manual tasks," says Dr. Sheshanarayana.
The team initially focused on SOLIDWORKS for its world-class 3D modeling capabilities, but later benchmarked Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS Simulation against other established FEA tools and found it fully met their performance needs. “I would definitely recommend SOLIDWORKS and getting into the Startup Program,” notes Dr. Sheshanarayana.

The SOLIDWORKS for Startups program offers free SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD, simulation, data management, and other product development software that scales with your startup needs. Program participants also benefit from free training, co-marketing resources, and networking opportunities. (Apply now to see if your startup qualifies.)
Enabling Teamwork
Dr. Sheshanarayana continues, “The SOLIDWORKS technical support team also helped us get started with using the cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE functionality; they even helped us with some FEA analysis, which was quite invaluable.” Furthermore, the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform helped Bullwork streamline team collaboration, ensuring that everyone in the product development process was connected in a single, cloud-based workspace.
Dr. Sheshanarayana concludes: “If you want to run fast, try the SOLIDWORKS for Startups program. I don't think you will regret it.”
