About the Exam

This certification covers advanced mechanical design modeling functionality as well as collaborative and cloud-based data management tools on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform using the 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS role.

Recommended Training Courses:

For the mechanical design modeling part of the exam, free learning can be found at this link. You will need either a SOLIDWORKS ID or 3DEXPERIENCE ID to log in.

For the collaborative and cloud-based data management part of the exam, we suggest completing the learning for 3DSwymer (formally known as Collaborative Business Innovator), and Collaborative Industry Innovator.

We also strongly suggest the following SOLIDWORKS courses offered by your SOLIDWORKS reseller:

  • Access to the 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS role and SOLIDWORKS Connected App
  • SOLIDWORKS Essentials
  • SOLIDWORKS Drawings
  • Advanced Part Modeling
  • Advanced Assembly Modeling

Exam features questions on these areas of 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS:

  • Understand the 3DEXPERIENCE interface
  • Connect to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
  • Collaborate using the capabilities of 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
  • Creating a part from a drawing
  • Using linked dimensions and equations to aid in modeling
  • Using equations to relate dimensions
  • Updating parameters and dimension sizes
  • Mass property analysis
  • Modifying geometry on initial part to create a more complex part
  • Modifying parameters on the part at different stages while maintaining all other dimensions and design intent
  • Creating configurations from other configurations
  • Changing configurations
  • Creation of configurations using a Design Table
  • Mass properties
  • Changing and/or rearranging features of an existing SOLIDWORKS part
  • Creating an assembly
  • Adding parts to an assembly
  • Doing collision detection when moving a part in an assembly
  • Interference detection
  • Basic and advanced mates
  • Inserting subassemblies
  • Replacing a part with another part in an assembly
  • Creating a coordinate system
  • Using a coordinate system to perform mass properties analysis
